Gone Wrong

Note: This story is published in Behind the Shadows II

Some time ago, I did a deep dive on what made the stories I loved the stories I loved. Turns out that I like mystery. And adventure. And a little bit of the supernatural. There is feeling that I am constantly chasing when I read, and it’s the same feeling I had as a little boy watching Indiana Jones for the first time.

If you’ve read any of my other works involving the Kinston Collective (A New Evil was the first), you may have already spotted that I have my own special version of that formula. It includes a dash of humor and a heaping handful of Lovecraftian horror, and I LOVE writing in that space. While worldbuilding for my first book in the Kinston Collective, I ran across a foulmouthed, craggy, trenchcoated sorcerer named Andrew Brownell who was so unlikable and at the same time so competent that he demanded to have his own story.

This was my first experience with a Kickstarter Anthology, and I was very pleased by the whole process. It will also be my first story to be performed as an audio book. I will keep you updated when that is available, but in the meantime, check out in ebook or paperback (B&N is slightly cheaper than Amazon).
